About Dr. Adrian Sjarif and his practice
In this video, Dr. Adrian Sjarif speaks about his practice as a specialist plastic surgeon. That is precisely why he prefers to have a detailed preoperative session with all his patients. It enables him to gauge the preferences of the patients and identify the right procedure for them. The decision to have plastic surgery is a big one. And for lot of these patients it’s been something that they have thought about for months if not years. So, for them to come to me and to entrust me with their care is something I take very seriously and something that I am very proud to be able to be involved with, in their surgical journey. So, I spend a lot of time in preoperative consultation, listening to the patients and what their goals are? What they’re looking at achieving through surgery. I spend some time going through the nature of the operation. What the patient can expect in the post operative phase. What they can expect during the recovery phase. We spend a lot of time pre-operatively discussing the patient’s concerns and what we can do with surgery to get them to where they want to be. And so, it is very gratifying after the procedure to see the results of the surgery. I think it is important that patients have easy access to come back and see me. I provide my patients with contact details. So, I am always contactable if it’s any issues in the post operative period. Very fortunate to work with some wonderful staff both in my Sydney and Wollongong rooms. The reception staff always welcoming the patients. They take time to listen to patients. They’re always available. The nursing staff that we have working here at the aesthetic day surgery are experts in plastic surgery. Some of the senior nurses have been here for 20 years. Some of the senior nurses have been here since this day surgery facility was here. Plastic surgery is a wonderful specialty being amidst great people. I think we’ve a great set of patients. They’re universally always happy after their procedures. I think they instill a lot of trust in us. It’s very gratifying to know that you made a , you know, a positive impact on a patient’s life, no matter how small. Just the other evening I had a G.P approach me at a G.P teaching session. And he’d had a patient who had come to him that I had done breast reduction on who was very happy with how things had gone. And he sort of went out of his way to come and let me know how happy she was. It’s nice to hear things like that. It’s nice to get feedback like that, to know that you’re doing the right thing.
